Club Purchase Record, Sigurdsson Official Join Everton
Icelandic Gylfi Sigurdsson has officially moved from Swansea City to Everton.
The midfielder was contracted for five years with a transfer fee of 45 million pounds, which is Everton’s most expensive record ever in history.
Related to the move to Everton, Sigurdsson expressed his wish to make a real contribution to his new club by helping the process of creating and scoring goals.
“Hopefully I will continue to create and score goals for the team and contribute to the success of the club,” Sigurdsson told Evertontv when signing the contract.
“This is an ambitious club and we are clearly moving in the right direction, the most important thing is that this team continues to win the game and go up to the top of the table and do that all season,” he said.
Meanwhile, Everton coach Ronald Koeman is pleased with the arrival of the 27-year-old.
“I am very happy because the club and especially our chairman, Bill Kenwright, did everything to get Sigurdsson.” It took some time, but eventually we have signed the player, “Koeman said.
“In my opinion, in his position, he is one of the best players in the Premier League. We have it here and it is great for the team,” he said.
Last season, Sigurdsson scored nine goals and contributed 13 assists for Swansea City in the Premier League competition.
